Salicylic Peel

Salicylic Peel
Item# salicylic

Product Description

Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy Acid which gives a dramatic skin peel. Salicylic Acid is oil-soluble, making it most appropriate for combination, oily skin and acne-prone skin. Those with drier skin may want to opt for using Lactic Acid, which can be more moisturizing than Salicylic. Salicylic 30% is much stronger than Glycolic 30%. In fact, applying Salicylic 30% is similar to applying a 60-70% Glycolic deep peel.

How to give a boost to your peel:

Apply Salicylic 2% exfoliator or Salicylic 5% exfoliator before doing a peel treatment. The Salicylic Acid will penetrate to clean and open your pores, allowing the peel agent to penetrate and work more effectively.

What can I expect if I use Salicylic Acid?

Salicylic Acid can have a stinging (and sometimes a frosting) effect on the skin. A patient's skin may look as if it were sunburned after a peel treatment. It may take several days for a complete recovery from this type of peel. You may see some peeling, however, this is a gradual process. A Salicylic peel will not prevent you from going to work or doing other activities but your face may not be ideal for pictures. Approximately 5 days after performing a peel, the skin will appear rejuvenated and more youthful looking.
